An Introduction

Hello and assalaamu alaikum MMW readers!

My name is Krista and I’m just getting started as a MMW blogger. I’m excited to join the team of writers, especially since I tend to overanalyse all of these topics anyway.

I live in Vancouver (on unceded Coast Salish territory) and finished my undergrad degree in Women’s and Gender Studies last year. I’ll be moving to Toronto this fall to start a master’s in Sociology and Equity Studies in Education. Lately, I’ve been spending my time working in university student services, as well as tutoring a girl who homeschools. I’ve also volunteered as a tutor and advocate with a community of young mothers in a high school program, and I’ve done some work coordinating anti-racist events on campus. When I’m not doing all that stuff, you can find me tap dancing, bike riding, hiking, or talking (and usually eating too) with friends.

(And yup, I really am Muslim… don’t be fooled by the name 😉 )

Looking forward to blogging with you!
