Masooma Hasani, 18 years old woman from Afghanistan, loves skiing, but she has to go through endless abuse and shaming from people around her. Despite all that, she is trying to change attitudes towards women sports.

The debate over Muslim women’s rights within marriage and family isn’t new. Young Muslim women from underprivileged communities across the country are using novel ways to turn around their lives. One of them is technology.

Despite the increasing number of anti-Muslim hate crimes in the United States, Muslim women who wear the hijab are still devoted to wearing their headscarves. Mic interviewed some of these women.

Following a spike in anti-Islamic attacks during and since the 2016 election campaign, Muslim women will be offered a free self-defense class this week in College Park, Maryland.

At 11, actress-turned-entrepreneur Mia Sara is already the owner of hijab brand MS Couture. She is the only child entrepreneur at the four-day Karnival Mai Dagang organized by an international e-commerce and halal trading company.
